In contrast to most US states that have legalized sports betting, Colorado will begin with mobile sports betting rather than retail. This allows bettors to register for accounts from the comfort of their own homes, or anywhere across the state. Customers will also be able to place bets at approved retail locations when they have been given the all-clear to open up again. All land-based casinos in the state are shut due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic but will be opening up again soon.

Residents, as well as visitors to Colorado, will be able to place wagers in-person inside casinos located in three towns, Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek. These locations must also enter an agreement with an online partner. If you are wanting to play in a casino, we list the best casinos in Black Hawk.
