University of Denver partners with SuperBook sportsbook

The Colorado sports betting industry continues to grow and expand, and the University of Denver is now looking to get involved.

The University of Denver has now partnered with a sports betting operator, becoming the second college in the state to do so.

A deal has been made with the SuperBook Sportsbook and it should provide some massive benefits to both the school and the operator. Included in this deal is branding and social media recognition for the University of Denver.

The SuperBook is a major name in the sports betting industry in Nevada, but it continues to roll features out slowly in the state of Colorado. In order to gain market access into the state of Colorado, the SuperBook formed a partnership with the Lodge Casino, located in Black Hawk.

The SuperBook is known for offering one of the best NFL contests in the United States, but that won’t be offered until 2022 at the earliest. Retail sports betting is now offered by the SuperBook at the Lodge, and the online sportsbook went live last December.

The University of Denver is not one of the major universities in the state of Colorado, and the school doesn’t even offer football. Division 1 basketball is offered at this school, and the university competes in the Summit League.

College football is the most popular betting market when it comes to the amateur sports, but college basketball is a close second. The University of Denver has not yet reached the NCAA Tournament, but it should become a popular betting attraction through this new partnership.

In a press release, the school stated, “We’re also excited about the opportunity for the proceeds of this partnership to directly impact our student-athletes’ experience at DU.” It’s unclear how these funds will be used in the future, but it could be used in a way to improve the current facilities at the school.

The SuperBook will use this new partnership to have a bigger presence in Denver as competition in this part of the state is strong. Even though the SuperBook has become a leader in Las Vegas, it has not enjoyed the same success in Colorado.

CU, PointsBet Form First Partnership

The University of Colorado and PointsBet made headlines last September when the two sides agreed to sports betting partnership. This was the first time a university had ever gotten involved in the US sports betting industry since the lifting of the federal ban, and it has remained the only partnership until this time.

PointsBet is a company that is based out of Australia, but it has also built a new headquarters in Denver. This was a five-year deal that was signed between PointsBet and the University of Colorado but not much has been made since that time.

When this announcement was made, it was noted that the school would receive a financial boost, but a specific number was not named. The University of Colorado competes in the Pac-12 Conference, and this deal helped give PointsBet some significant exposure.
