PointsBet Partnering With TPC Colorado
PointsBet Sportsbook has become one of the top sports betting options in the state of Colorado, and the operator is looking to make an even bigger splash.
According to a recent announcement, PointsBet is set to become the official sports betting partner of the TPC Colorado Championship.
Heron Lakes Golf Course is the host site of the TPC Colorado Championship each year, and it is an event on the Korn Ferry Tour. The Korn Ferry Tour is for amateurs looking to prove themselves before becoming a professional on the PGA Tour.
The PGA Tour has taken an aggressive approach to sports betting in recent months, and PointsBet was looking to make a splash with the smaller tour. DraftKings recently became an official sports betting partner of TPC Scottsdale in the state of Arizona.
According to the report, PointsBet will be the only sports betting operator authorized to take bets on the event. PointsBet will receive marketing and advertising rights for the event, and it should help the operator gain more exposure in the Centennial State.
PointsBet has built its United States headquarters in Denver, and the sportsbook is hoping to become the leaders in Colorado sports betting. This event also raises money for local charities in the Heron Lakes community, and PointsBet wants to align itself with community efforts.
Guests and attendees at the TPC Colorado Championship will be able to participate in unique and engaging events put on by the sports betting operator. Financial details of this new partnership were not included in the announcement, but this will provide a huge boost to both companies.
The 2021 TPC Colorado Championship is set to take place on July 8-11, and the purse is $600,000. There has been a recent push to raise the purses for Korn Ferry Tour events, and partnering with sports betting companies could accomplish this.
DraftKings Strikes Deal With Sling TV
In a deal that will have a lesser impact on sports bettors in the state of Colorado, DraftKings has reportedly agreed to a deal with Sling TV. DraftKings offers both retail and online sports betting in Colorado through a partnership with the Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk.
Sling TV has been looking to break into the sports betting industry, and it is prepared to launch a sports betting information channel. DraftKings will back the new venture and will create unique content for the channel.
The DraftKings Basketball Channel will be the first to launch on Sling TV, and it is already available to Sling TV subscribers. Over the next few weeks, DraftKings will also be launching channels dedicated to both hockey and baseball.
Sling TV is a product of the Dish Network, and DraftKings has already inked a deal with that company. In March, the sports betting operator also announced an agreement to purchase the Vegas Sports Information Network.
This new channel will highlight sports betting options available in states where DraftKings is live, which includes Colorado. Live or in-play betting will also be focused on the channel giving sports bettors in Colorado some tips.
