More Names Set to Enter Colorado Betting Market
Sports betting in the state of Colorado launched on May 1, and the industry has done much better than expected since that time.
Sportsbooks were able to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, and the industry has still been posting some terrific numbers.
Some of the biggest names in the sports betting industry were ready to launch on May 1, but others have been slow to launch. As the weeks go on, more and more CO sports betting operators are joining the market, and Colorado is set to become a huge player in the industry.
There are currently 10 online operators up and running in the state, and four retail sportsbooks up and running, but that number is set to climb soon. More big names are set to enter the market in Colorado as operators prepare for the upcoming NFL season.
ELITE Sportsbook has now launched in Colorado, and this is just the second state where they are live. ELITE was targeting the beginning of the NBA Playoffs for a launch date, and they were able to hit their mark.
ELITE has partnered with Red Dolly Casino in Black Hawk, Colo., which has allowed them to offer both mobile and retail betting. Kiosks have been set up on-site at the casino, but ELITE is looking to make a name for themselves in the online market.
It won’t be easy for ELITE to carve out a path in Colorado as they are getting a late start. Some of the biggest names in the industry, including BetMGM and BetRivers sportsbook are already up and running, and they have racked up a ton of customers.
TheScore Ready For NFL
TheScore was preparing to launch in Colorado on May 1, and that would have put them in position to dominate the market in the state. That didn’t happen, and now theScore is looking to launch by the start of the 2020 NFL season.
TheScore was scared off by the COVID-19 pandemic, and that forced them to change their launch plans in the state. Now the company has realized that the sports betting market in the state is strong, and the company is ready to launch.
The National Football League is the most popular sport to bet on in the United States, and theScore is looking to take advantage of the upcoming regular season.
PlayUp Ready to Break Into the US
Not only are some of the biggest operators in the United States looking to break into the Colorado market, but some top international operators are looking to join as well. PlayUp is an Australian-based company, and they appear ready to join the market in Colorado in the coming weeks.
PlayUp has partnered with Bull Durham Casino in Black Hawk, Colo., which will give them a chance to offer sports betting in the state. PlayUp has yet to launch in the United States, but it targeted Colorado as its first attempt in the United States.
It’s unclear when PlayUp will be ready for launch, but they should be up and running at some point this fall.
