Colorado is one of the most active sports betting states in the USA with 24 platforms to choose from. Some of these online betting sites are new arrivals while others are considered industry leaders. We’ve put together a detailed list to browse through the pros and cons of each CO sportsbook.
All of the sites we list on this page are licensed by the Colorado Department of Revenue, so you can rest assured that each site will have to abide by state regulations.
The prohibition of sports betting in the US lasted for 26 years, from 1992 to 2018. After a new Supreme Court ruling was announced, it was decided that each state would be responsible for determining its own gambling laws and regulations.
This led to the formation of state-specific gambling commissions such as the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission.
Colorado was one of the first states in the US to embrace the new legislation and legalized online sports betting in 2019. Since then, we’ve seen several licensed and legitimate sportsbooks launch their betting platform in the Centennial State.
Today, there are over 20 platforms for customers to choose from, each with their own benefits and hitches.
We’ve narrowed down the options of all the Colorado sports betting sites to the top ten, based on their bonus offer, sporting markets, platform design (both website and app), payment options, and support. Take a look at what each of them offers below.
With so many choices, it can be quite difficult to pick the best CO sports betting platform. Our experience with each sportsbook has been detailed in reviews but when it comes to making the choice, you’re going to want something that suits your sporting market of interest.
We recommend looking for a bonus that is within your starting budget and a sportsbook that covers the leagues you’re interested in.
After that, you can explore some other platforms to also take advantage of their welcome bonuses.
There are some frontrunners in the sports betting industry and we’ve ranked our top ten Colorado sports betting experiences in this section. Keep scrolling for more information on each of the betting sites.
Topping our ratings at Gamble Colorado is the Caesars CO Sportsbook. The welcome offer of a $1,250 Bonus Bet and 1,000 Reward and Tier Credits is one of the highest in the industry. You’ll only have to deposit and wager a minimum of $10.
Besides that, they feature just about any sports market you can imagine, including the likes of the MLB, NHL, NFL, and NBA. Returning customers also earn Caesars Reward points which can be spent at partnered locations throughout the US.
Another big name on the Colorado sports betting scene is FanDuel. They’re one of a handful of sportsbooks that support Venmo for deposits and withdrawals. New customers can also take advantage of the $1,000 No Sweat First Bet bonus that is running and if you’re new to sports betting, the betting guide makes it easy for anyone to follow the best practices.
You’ll only have 14 days to use the FanDuel bonus bet, so stay on top of it!
Third on our list is a new addition to the scene, Betsafe CO. They’ve designed one of the best apps on the market that gives customers access to daily odds boosts and an impressive selection of betting options. Once opening your account, you can also opt-in for $500 worth of bonus bets.
Unfortunately, you’ll only be able to access the platform from an Android or Apple device.
Another household name in the Colorado online sports betting scene is the DraftKings CO sportsbook.
Their platform boasts the widest selection of betting options available to customers. You’ll also be able to handle your funds using online banking methods, credit/debit cards, VIP Preferred or PayPal.
No matter what method you choose, you will need at least $20 to make a withdrawal.
The 20% matched deposit bonus of up to $1,000 is more suitable for high rollers who are looking to extend their bankroll. You can still claim the bonus by depositing a minimum of $5.
bet365 CO offers customers an easy, low-budget option to enter the sports betting industry. They are an international sportsbook with a solid reputation around the world. Once you deposit $10 and bet at least $1, you will receive $200 in bonus bets, the most valuable bonus on our list of Colorado sports betting sites.
You can also rest assured that help is always on-hand with their incredible customer support team that is available through live chat, email, and/or telephone.
If you’re an active spreads bettor, PointsBet CO is the platform you’ve been looking for. The PointsBetting feature will reward your spread bets with a multiplier above the spread you’ve predicted. Betting $5 on the Chiefs +4 over the Lions? Well, if they win by 10, you’ll win $30 (6 additional points x $5).
You can also take advantage of the 5 x $50 bonus bets when you sign up. Although, your first bet of up to $50 will have to be lost each day and you will need to deposit a minimum of $20 to opt-in to the bonus.
Betway is another international sportsbook that has a massive global presence. They’ve grown in the US to become a top competitor in the sports betting scene and they currently offer customers up to $250 in bonus bets. You’ll need to meet the minimum deposit of $10 and place a losing bet on a match of at least -300 odds.
With the sportsbook being available around the world, it’s no surprise that their betting markets include a massive variety of sports. You’ll be able to place moneylines, futures, spreads, and props on just about any league you can imagine. Unfortunately, the platform you’ll be placing your bets from is a little outdated.
Colorado sports bettors should be familiar with the BetRivers brand; they’re one of the biggest names in the US and have a strong focus on promotions for most major leagues in the US.
The value of the sportsbook lies in all the rewards you will receive while using the platform. iRush credits are awarded to your account while betting and a wide variety of bonuses are always available for all customers.
If you’re interested in same-game parlays, you might be better off with another entry in our top ten. Options were very limited and very few of the promotions applied to the betting option.
Next up, we have an online sportsbook that has been growing exponentially over the last couple of years. BetMGM is the sportsbook of MGM Resorts International and offers sports bets to any US citizen in the state of Colorado.
You’ll be able to claim constant rewards with their loyalty program and they reward customers with $50 when a friend signs up to the sportsbook.
The platform has got to be considered one of the best for Colorado sports betting. The layout of betting options within each market is easy to navigate and you’ll have plenty of options available with each match.
We also had to point out the live betting section which includes match graphics and on-screen live betting options.
The final entry of our top ten Colorado sportsbooks is Betfred. You’ll get off to a great start with their generous welcome promotion of Bet $50, Get $111, and $200 a week for five weeks. The $200 a week is awarded in bonus bets matching 50% of your week’s losses.
We were blown away by the app that Betfred has on offer, it was easy to browse and place a bet. Unfortunately, this is the only platform that the sportsbook has available for customers, there is no web-based option.
Colorado sports bettors will be spoilt for choice if you’re interested in American leagues. There are endless betting options available for NHL, MLB, MLS, NFL and NBA. There’s also a range of existing customer promotions that are updated frequently.
While not amongst our top ten, these sportsbooks have shown great promise to keep challenging for a top spot here at Gamble Colorado. Their online sports betting platforms could use one or two more features or improvements to be considered one of the best.
FOX Bet entered the sports betting market with plenty of momentum thanks to its sports media channel. They allow customers the freedom of fully-customizable bets and frequent ‘Super Boosts’ that trigger for certain matches. That being said, the platform could use some more existing customer bonuses.
WynnBet recently joined the Colorado sports betting scene and put a decent welcome offer of Bet $100, Get $100 on the table. You can also make the most of these bonus funds by using ‘The Playbook’ to gain some expert insights into upcoming matches.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to ensure that you have an account open with Play+, VIP Preferred, or PayPal to withdraw any winnings.
Another competitive platform for Colorado sports bettors is the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook. They offer a decent spread of betting options within all US sporting markets and for customers who are short on cash, you can enter the Perfect 10 Picks competition to try your luck at a $10,000 winning prize.
The platform itself could use some improvements as the appearance seems outdated. Menus and graphics are not as crisp as competing sites.
Barstool Sportsbook became legal in Colorado in 2021 and evolved from the sports media site, Barstool Sports. You can still use this blog to find detailed information for upcoming matches and Barstool exclusive odds boosts. Sports bettors might struggle to browse through the platform as the site still needs some work to improve navigability.
Tipico is currently only available in four states but it has slowly grown to become a competitor within the Colorado market. Once you sign up, you’ll gain access to detailed match data and be able to select your favorite team for personalized bonuses.
There are also two welcome offers currently available for customers to choose from, either $150 in bonus bets or a 100% deposit match up to $250. The first requires a minimum deposit of $50 and the second, $10.
The withdrawal limit of $20 might scare off some sports bettors with lower budgets, so just keep that in mind before you register and open an account.
The Australian-based sportsbook has become a noteworthy name on the Colorado sports betting scene. Customers can always take advantage of their daily specials and promotions after they’ve made their way through the $100 bonus bet welcome offer.
Customer service is a bit of a worry as there is only a contact form on their site. You can also email help@playupusa.com or call on (719) 455-2012 but response times aren’t great.
Bally Bet might be the ideal option for customers looking to bet on college sports. They have great coverage of all national leagues and offer highly competitive odds. You won’t be able to boost these winnings with any bonuses but there is a decent loyalty program available.
Parlay bettors can also make use of both the progressive parlays and the customizable betting options.
SuperBook is on the rise within the US sports betting scene and this is likely due to their active social media channels which provide worthwhile content. There is a focus placed on Colorado teams when using the platform, you’ll find odds boosts and discussions on their site.
As a sports media outlet, the company knows what they’re doing but the sportsbook platform itself could use some updating.
Our final recommendation of Colorado sports betting sites would be the Elite Sportsbook platform. They offer Hat Trick Weekends to all customers which will award your account with a $15 bonus bet after you’ve made 3 x $50 qualifying bets over the weekend.
You’ll also be able to cash out of bets early by using the feature on the mobile platform or website.
The platform does need some updating and design improvements. As you can see from the screenshot above, it’s a bit cluttered and difficult to find the markets you actually want to bet on.
With 20 sportsbooks mentioned, we’ve left the last four in our lower-tier section. This doesn’t mean that their platform is illegitimate, our team just found more on offer with the other platforms. We’d recommend rather opening an account with one of our top 20.
Maverick is another legal sports betting option for customers in Colorado but unfortunately, you will be met with no welcome bonus or any existing customer promotions. You’ll be able to withdraw and deposit easily thanks to their payment methods but there’s also not much to bet on with only eight sports markets.
Smarkets intends to ‘rewrite the sportsbook’ with their new SBK platform. You will find plenty of betting markets but unfortunately, the app needs some work to lay out all the clutter. It’s also one of the worst-reviewed sportsbooks on both the Apple and Google Play Stores in Colorado, the product just needs some time to work out all the kinks.
The online sports betting platform of Monarch Casino Resorts has enough options for most sports bettors, but unfortunately, all of these bets will have to be placed from your mobile device. They also require a minimum of $40 to be deposited.
Circa Sports is still in development and their sports betting platform clearly illustrates this. You will be able to see the odds of most US sporting leagues but the markets are limited to hockey, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and UFC.
While ClutchBet offers quite a few sports betting bonuses, we still couldn’t get past the outdated design of their betting platform. Many sections were unresponsive and the live betting section was basic.
We had to include some honorable mentions that have closed their doors over the last couple of years. The industry is highly competitive and quality platforms sometimes have to give up the chase.
TwinSpires is renowned as an online sportsbook with a strong focus on horse racing. The company decided to branch into general sports betting, but unfortunately, it never panned out in the Centennial State.
You will still be able to bet on upcoming horse races, but there are no other sports markets on offer.
MaximBet hit the ground running within the Colorado sports betting scene, their platform was one of the best on the market and they had a variety of promotions running with celebrity endorsements.
Unfortunately, the competition proved to be too much for the sportsbook and they had to close their doors in November of 2022.
The story of theScore is very similar to Barstool Sportsbook, a sports media company that transitioned to the sports betting scene. While the sports betting platform was well-designed and offered competitive odds, the industry itself was too competitive for the company to succeed. No more bets were accepted from the US since July 1st, 2022.
The Colorado Department of Revenue currently recognizes 24 sportsbooks in Colorado. This only includes online platforms, there are also 14 retail sports betting locations throughout the state.
Colorado has some of the best online sports betting platforms in the US. The list includes Bally Bet, Barstool Sports, Bet Monarch, bet365, Betfred Sports, BetMGM, BetRivers, Betsafe, Betway, Caesars, Circa Sports, ClutchBet, DraftKings, Elite Sportsbook, FanDuel, FoxBet, Maverick, PlayUp, PointsBet, SI Sportsbook, Smarkets, Superbook, Tipico, and WynnBET.
With so many big names on the Colorado sportsbooks list, it's tough placing one platform above all the rest. We've reviewed most of the sites and found that Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel, Betsafe, and BetMGM have the most to offer to both beginners and seasoned bettors in Colorado.
