Time to Look at Broncos Future Odds
Things were buzzing for the Colorado sports betting industry to begin the month of June as both the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets were making postseason runs.
Those teams then combined to lost eight straight games, and both teams will have to wait until next year to play.
Now that those teams have been eliminated, it is time to focus on the Denver Broncos in anticipation of the 2021 season. The Broncos are the most popular team in the state, and the NFL season should help bring new sports betting industry records.
The Denver Broncos are currently +2500 to win the Super Bowl this season, but those odds could change if a certain quarterback were to land in Denver. Aaron Rodgers continues to demand a trade out of Green Bay, and the Broncos are one of his preferred destinations.
Before the Broncos even begin to think about winning the Super Bowl, trying to win the AFC West is the ultimate goal. The Kansas City Chiefs are the clear favorites, but Denver is listed at just +600.
John Elway is no longer in charge of the operations for the Broncos, but he didn’t exactly leave new General Manager George Paton in great shape. The return of Von Miller should help solidify the defense, but the Broncos will have to find ways to score.
At this point, oddsmakers don’t even think that the Broncos will be a playoff team in 2021, and that would be a blow to the fan base. The odds for Denver to make the playoffs are +156, and they are set at -190 for them to miss out on the postseason.
U.S. Open Could be Big For Colorado
Golf is not a major betting market in the state of Colorado, but that won’t be the case this weekend. It’s U.S. Open week, and this year’s event will be held at Torrey Pines.
The total golf handle should also get a big boost this weekend as there isn’t much left to bet on in Colorado sports betting. Bettors will still focus on the remaining NBA and NHL Playoffs, but not having the local teams available will hurt the market.
Jon Rahm is the betting favorite to win the U.S. Open at +950. Rahm was last seen on the 18th green at the Memorial when he was informed that he had tested positive for COVID-19, but he was playing in great form at that time.
There are other big names as betting favorites this weekend, including Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka. The feud between those two golfers is a major storyline this weekend, and both players could be in contention.
Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, and Colin Morikawa are other big names to watch at Torrey Pines, and this event is always challenging for the golfers.
Here is a look at the 10 top betting favorites at the U.S.Open:
Jon Rahm +950
Bryson DeChambeau +1700
Dustin Johnson +1700
Xander Schauffele +1700
Brooks Koepka +1800
Rory McIlroy +1900
Colin Morikawa +2000
Jordan Spieth +2300
Justin Thomas +2400
Tony Finau +2400
